Operating Principles
 
These principles define the way that we, as adults at Whitney, have agreed to treat one another in order to be more effective in helping our students succeed.
 
 
 RESPECT
  •  We value diversity and teach tolerance by modeling.
  • We treat others as we would like to be treated.
  • We honor each other in order to build trust.
  • We are just and objective in our decision making.
  • We are active and reflective listeners.
 
 HONESTY
  • We are truthful, sincere and open with all of our colleagues.

  • We use “I” statements when interacting with one another.
 
 SENSITIVITY
  • We acknowledge and accept other's feelings and styles.
  • We approach innovation and diversity with an open mind.
  • We consider the impact of our actions on others.
  • We are discreet in our handling of all confidential and personal issues.
  • We view issues, ideas and actions from multiple perspectives.
